As the moment I wrote this, we are in the middle of tech layoffs. As you all saw thoundsands of people are laid off from companies like Google, Amazon etc. People were more willing to downlevel; mid-size companies have more chances to hire good talents but it is definitely harder for the new grads. No more recruiters sending inboxes and candiadates land one within a week, not to mention job hops. There are a few things that I observed:

  1. Companies are into savings to prepare for the difficult time than scaling up. Less demand to hire and if there is one, it is for senior positions who can do the jobs.
